On March, 30-31, 2016, ‘Seminar of National Mapping Geological Information Society & Work Meeting of Collective Members’ was successfully held in Changsha, Hunan. Huang Guoqiang, chief engineer, Nan Zhiyong, manager of the Geological Information Department, were invited to get involved. In the meeting, Li Weisen, deputy director of the State Mapping Bureau, Li Weisen, president of National Mapping Geological Information Society, leaders of branch outfits and provincial societies as well as representatives of unit members made summations on work in the society in 2015 and made deployment on work for 2016. Pertinent to main contents in the meeting, the following summary is concluded:
I. Work report by leaders present
　　1. Director Li Weisen gave summary and approval on work of the society in 2015: in 2015, China Mapping Geological Information Society has been forever sticking to the concept of scientific development, scientific and technological innovation and servicing the members, leading and unifying workers engaged in mapping geological information to make elaborate work on such aspects as facilitation of scientific popularity of mapping geology information and close collaboration of scientific and economic building as well as initiative servicing of members. It is viably spurring advancement of mapping geological information with significance achievements.
　　2. Li Weisen’s requirements on main work of 2016: first, it intends to expand academic brand of ‘two seminars and one forum’ (academic annual meeting, national mapping geological information technology device fair, high-end forum with ‘internet + mapping geological information of the era’ as the theme); second, it intends to popularize the scientific publicity brand of precise mapping geological information; third, it aims at elevating award level of mapping geological information; fourth, it intends to extend achievements of governmental transfer functions; fifth, it is to build work mechanism for benign and interactive development of societies at two levels; and sixth, it is to intensify management and guidance of branch institutions.
　　3. Peng Zhenzhong, deputy director and general secretary of China Mapping Geological Information Society, summed up work in 2015 and deployed working assignment for 2016.
　　4. The meeting awards academic annual meeting of China Mapping Geological Information Society, 2015 as well as the 5th National Mappign Geological Information Technology Device Exhibition. Representatives of branch institutions, provincial societies and team members exchanged views and delivered speeches.

II. Follow-up work priorities of the society 
    1. Delegated by National Mapping Geological Information Bureua, China Mapping Geological Information Society expanded its work scope and scope of authority. It is mainly reflected in the following aspects: 1) The society organizes relevant institutions and panel of experts to affirm set-up, doctorate spot and laboratory of mapping specialty in colleges; 2) Pertinent to new technologies, methods, instruments and software test, the society has set up professional outfits to take charge and receive application and testing of various units; 3) The society will continue to organize appraisal of outstanding mapping award to rate progress award and recommend national scientific and technological award. 4) It will intensify management on qualification of mapping in membership units. 
    2. Training of pilots for aerial survey UAV 
    Aerial survey UAV is an emerging industry of mapping industry. With gradual perfection of UAV technology, its advanced technological concepts would sure bring some impacts on traditional mapping industry. To fully utilize advanced technology of aerial survey UAV and survey UAV with regulated management, the society has organized professional outfits and outstanding instructors to hold training class on aerial survey UAV and obtain great success. In the meantime, with multi-party communication, the society has reached an agreement with national air control departments in that its license for UAV pilots can be endorsed and obtained consent by AOPO. The society plans to hold the last term of training in middle May.

III. Work discussion of membership units 
    After the meeting, the organizing unit also arranges work discussion among private companies. Pertinent to some issues and difficulties in the membership units, the society also gives it answers. The mapping market for the moment is short of valid marketing supervision and management with various small mapping units constantly bringing down unit price and engaging in evil competition that damages marketing institution. Ma Zhenfu, vice secretary general of the society, stressed that in the follow-up few years, it would reinforce management on the mapping market. 
    As regards UAV, units present also gave major proposals in hoping that the society would organize professional and authoritative training so that membership units would train professional talents. Huang Guoqiang, general chief of our company, gave valuable ideas on application of UAV, training of UAV, perfection of laws an regulations concerning UAV and got consistent approval by people. When it comes to training of UAV, the society plans to reinforce regulated management and organize authoritative outfits for training. General Secretary Ma Zhenfu gave the summary speech. The meeting was a great success.
